Drake's First Birthday

I cannot believe Drake is already one year old! It really feels like it was just yesterday that he looked like this....

Now he looks like this.....

Drake is such a joy! We love him so much and are so grateful he is a part of our family. I sure hope we have done a good job at being parents his first year of life, cause I will be honest, at times we had no idea what we were doing! We have had fun with him and have enjoyed watching him grow and learn new things. It is amazing to me how much he has learned in just a year. He picks up on things so fast.

-He is walking
-He has 7 teeth and is starting to get his pre-molars
-He says... hi, owie, ok, uh-oh, grandpa, mama, dada, Laur Laur, Lucy, Holly and some.
-He knows how old he is
-He shakes his head Yes and No
-He can climb out of his highchair
-When we say "Where's Drake?" he puts his hands over his eyes
-He knows where his nose is
-He sleeps through the night and sleeps in
-He is taking good naps
-He has an attitude!!!!
-He hates getting is face wiped off
-He loves his binky
-He is a great eater and eats anything I put in front of him
-The only way I can get him to wear a hat is if I clap after I put it on
-He is so awful while I am changing his diaper
-He loves his daddy
-He points at what he wants
-He slaps at my face (which I HATE and I don't know what to do to get him to stop)
-He likes his belly to be tickled
-He loves my mom's dog Lucy and barks like her
-He loves bath time
-He gives loves by putting his head on your shoulder
-He is stinkin cute and we love him!!!

Drake's First Birthday Party

Arrgghhh!! We had a great time at Drake's Birthday party. I thought it would be so fun to do it Pirate Themed, and it was. We sent out invitations, and when everyone received them they gave me a hard time for doing the party at the church. There were too many people to do it at our little house. It ended up working out great! I can't believe all of the friends and family that came to celebrate with us. There are a lot of people who love and care about Drake. He is a lucky little boy.

I made him a tie to wear for his party!

The little cake was for Drake and the other cake I made for everyone else. Isn't that pirate so cute??

We had lots of yummy food!

and enjoyed the company of family and friends :)

The life of the party was there..... Dan

Seriously people.... the kid turned 1!!

Boston

The Wood Clan

One of Drake's favorite people, Jordan!! He loves her!

Lauren and Elli

After dinner we sang Happy Birthday to Drake and had cake and ice cream. Drake had his own cake to eat. He wasn't so sure he loved everyone staring at him, so I had to show him how good it was....

.....and it took no time at all and he was a mess!

He is a pro now at getting baths in sinks!!

After cake and ice cream, we opened presents.

Grandpa and Grandma Wood got Drake this Radio Flyer. It was the hit at the party. He loves this thing and walks all over the place with it. His legs are a little to short to ride it, but once they grow a bit, he will love it even more.

Aunt Andi gave him a Teddy Bear.

I made him this Owl for his birthday, and he better love it!! :)

He got so many other fun things from everyone!

Thank you mateys for coming and helping us celebrate!! It was so much fun and we appreciate your love and support. We love you and so does Drake!

So behind and really fun news!!

Wow, I haven't blogged for a really long time! I am a slacker. We went to Orlando a few weeks ago, had Drake's birthday, and then came home sick and one of us has had it in our house for the last 3 weeks!! For those of you that even follow this and read this, I will post pictures soon!

So, on to the good news. Josh and I are expecting......two new nieces or nephews!!! HA HA did I trick anyone? Both of Josh's sisters are expecting babies!! I am so excited to have 2 more nieces or nephews. Josh's oldest sister Andrea had an ultrasound yesterday and it looked like it was a girl, but they couldn't get a very good shot, so they aren't for sure. I am excited to welcome these sweet little babes into the family and am so excited that Drake will have more cousins!! I just wish Drake was a little older so I could be pregnant with them, that would be so fun!!

Funny Videos

These two videos are pretty funny. The first one is of Drake and Grace. BEWARE it is very loud so turn your speakers down a little bit. They act more like brother and sister than they do friends. The second video is of Drake laughing at Jordan. It is one of those videos that you watch and can't help but laugh while you are watching it.

Happy Halloween

I love the month of October for many reasons, but one of the reasons is Halloween. I love dressing up. I don't get to do it very often, so when I do, I like to go all out and have fun with it. Our friends put on a Halloween party this year. We had really good food and played some fun games. It was a fun night with friends.

Josh's costume was put together last minute. He went as a "cereal killer" and I went as a witch.

Look how cool those eyelashes are!

When we got to the party we were surprised to see that the 3 of us were the only ones that had dressed up. I say 3 because when we got there our husbands quickly got rid of their costumes. They say that blondes have more fun... and that night it was true!

Trick or Treating

Drake was a Giraffe. This was his first Halloween and it was super fun to get him a costume. Our first Trick or Treating stop was Dan and Holly's.

Hannah as an old lady, Mckay as himself, Drake as a giraffe, Elli as super girl and Boston as a cowboy.

Our next stop was the Karren residence. Emmy as a superstar, Logan as a nerd, and Cooper as Buzz Light Year. (p.s. Robin made those wings)

Then off to Grandma and Grandpa's.

Drake and Grace as a pink kitty.

The next stop, the first Aggie basketball game. Where we spent more time walking up at the top than we did watching the game.

Our last stop Great Grandpa and Grandma Haslam's house.

While we were there, Holly got me back for all of the stuff I have done to her kids and put a temporary tattoo on Drake's arm....

...and let him get into all of the candy he wanted.

Perfect Activity for a Rainy Day

I spent a rainy day learning to bottle applesauce with my grandparents.

Not only did we get yummy applesauce out of it, but I was able to learn something from them and spend time with them that I will always remember and cherish. I love my grandparents so much. They teach me something new everyday. I spend a lot of time at their house and love every minute of it. I am so happy they live to close. I love you Larry and Pris!!

Drake's First Haircut

Drake was in much need of a haircut.

So... you add Aunt Holly,

an ice cold Sprite,

Grandpa to hold the straw,

and you get a pretty handsome little boy!
