A Very Uneventful New Year's Eve

Our New Year's Eve was a lot of fun, but very uneventful.  I guess that is what happens when you have two kids and not very many people that want to babysit on that night. We joined the Rockwood's at their house for dinner and games.  The kids just played in their basement and it was so nice.  We were able to play some games and have some fun before it was time to go home.

Once we got the kids home I laid by both of them until they fell asleep and then Josh and I watched a movie. We did stay up until midnight and were able to ring in the new year with a kiss, but we went to bed shortly after. Even though there wasn't a big party, it actually was a great night and I wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way.  2014 had its ups and its downs, but overall it was a great year.  We look forward to the year of 2015 and hope that is brings us much joy!  We are grateful for all of our blessings and all that we were blessed with in the year of 2014.

The Last Month of 2014

I have to do the month post where I just show the random pictures that get taken throughout the month. December was a great month but a very busy month.  I was busy getting everything ready for Christmas before I left on my trip and getting everything ready for Primary (I got put in as the Primary secretary).  The first of the year is a busy time for Primary and we are a new presidency so I was super busy.

But with all of the crazy busy stuff I also found time to relax and enjoy the season. We don't have a fireplace at our house so I take advantage of one when I see it!

We watched the movie Elf.  The best Christmas movie ever!

I found a new chocolate that I love and I stopped into Bluebird a few times to get me one.  It is a chocolate called the Victoria. Wow it is yummy! My mouth is watering as I type.

I made some new cute Christmas throw pillows...

....and a new hand towel for my kitchen.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!! I sat by these almost every night!

Stella is obsessed with stickers and will put them all over the place.

She also is obsessed with her purse, phone, necklace and sunglasses!

We had some really nice weather the month of December.

Santa Claus came to our ward Christmas party.  The kids were all super excited.

Just hanging out with my Dad one Sunday evening.

Apparently I was so busy that I forgot to change my child's diaper.

Sister Rohwer is doing great!

Drake fell asleep in our bed a few times in December.  I just couldn't say no to that sweet face!

I drank A LOT of this stuff!

Stella got some Frozen pj's from Grandma Lisa and she loves them.

Drake loves Pluto and has to sleep with him every night. It makes me so happy. I think it is so cute when kids have to sleep with a certain stuffed animal.

Stella just sleeps with whatever we give her to sleep with. She doesn't have a certain one yet.

Look at those sweet kids sitting by the fire reading books!

Drake didn't feel great while we were gone and when Robin had him.  He asked Robin if he could have a nap. That never happens!

I listened to a lot of this guy.

While we were gone Drake made gingerbread houses with the Karrens and Grandma and Grandpa Wood.

This happened while they were staying at Dan and Holly's house.

We watched as many Christmas movies as we could.

And I painted my nails as festive as I could.  I am not good at doing designs so I just have to stick with just the colors.

Stella likes to help with laundry!

Our kids love to be read to.  There favorite book is one that is at my parents house.  Apparently Grandma is the only one who knows how to read it right. The kids laugh so hard and just love that book.

Stella had her first dental cleaning done and she did pretty good.  Not as good as Drake does, but she did alright.  Both of our kids are cavity free!!

Drake got this game for his birthday and loves it! Josh is so nice and plays it often!

Well, there ya go, we had a pretty dang good December!

Sledding

The day after Christmas we went sledding and boy oh boy did we have fun!  I haven't been sledding or really done anything fun in the snow for a really long time.  My snow clothes hadn't been worn in quite a few years and were a little tight, but they worked.  We went with Josh's family and had so much fun. All of the kids had a blast and so did the adults.  The weather was perfect.  It had snowed all day on Christmas but then the day after it was sunny and pretty warm.

There is something about kids all bundled up that is extremely cute!

Drake was a little timid at first and really wanted to ride with Josh or Me, but once he got the hang of it he went down by himself quite a few times.

Stella on the other hand had absolutely no fear and just hopped on that thing and went down the hill all by herself the first time. When she got off we were a bit worried she would be scared, but she just said, "I want to do that again!"  It was pretty cute to see this cute little thing going down a pretty good sized hill all alone.

This was one of the most fun days we have had as a family in a long time!

After we went sledding we went to Robin and Ted's house and had some lunch and then we all met back up there that night for dinner and more games.

Both of the kids played so hard today that they crashed the second we got them home, bathed and in their beds.  They were exhausted.

Christmas Day 2014

We had such a wonderful Christmas day.  We got so busy with hopping around to different houses and playing with our new Christmas gifts that I didn't get very many great pictures. I didn't even pull out my good camera. I seriously forgot!

Drake asked for a tee-pee tent this year and Stella asked for a dolly and a doll bed. The kids must have been extra good, because that is exactly what they got.  Santa was very good to them.

Santa brought Drake a tee-pee tent, lots of books, and some awesome stuff in his stocking.

Santa brought Stella a Dorothy doll, a doll bunk-bed, and some fun toys and treats in her stocking.

The best part of Christmas Day is that it was a White Christmas!  It snowed really hard and lots of it.  It was amazing.  After we saw what Santa brought us we went to my parents house for Crepes and to talk to Lauren on the phone.  It was so much fun talking to her, but it was really hard too.  I really miss her so seeing her face just made that worse.  I just wanted to give that girl a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek!  But she is doing good and looks so dang cute. She is such a good missionary and we are so proud of her.

Look how pretty she is!

Then Drake and Stella opened up their presents from Grandpa and Grandma.  They got pretty dang spoiled!

Drake got a wagon.  He has been asking for a wagon for a pretty long time and he finally got it.

It doesn't show in this picture, but Stella got a pussycat doll.  She is the cutest doll I have ever seen! She also got a new purse.

They also got snackeez and they were pretty excited about them.  They actually are pretty dang cool. I kind want one for myself!

We then went home and opened up the gifts to each other.

Stella got Eeyore, a princess Anna dress, a new blanket and I made her a little fabric doll house that has little dolls inside that she can take to church.

Drake also got a new blanket, some Lincoln Logs, and the game spot it and operation.

Josh got some new cologne, a new wallet, some clothes, gift card, socks, some beef jerky and I made a book with Liz and Karly with all of the pictures from our cruise.

I also got a new nice blanket, a camera strap, and a kindle!!

This necklace I am wearing is also a gift from Josh.  It is the one he gave me on our cruise.  And.... I had to make sure I drank my diet coke with festivity.  A green cup and a red straw.

Later that afternoon we went up to Robin and Ted's house and celebrated the rest of the night with all of Josh't family.  We had a yummy dinner, opened presents, sang songs and played lots of games. It was a blast.  The kids all had so much fun together.  Cousins are the best!  What a great Christmas day full of so much fun.  Although we got lots of fun new things, we also tried to remember the true meaning of Christmas and kept the Savior in our hearts and minds!  Merry Christmas!
