Grandma Gets Married

My Grandma was married and sealed yesterday to the love of her life! It was the best day, and such a great spirit was felt. She was able to get her sealing cancelled from her first husband on Friday and then were married Saturday. It was a miracle, and truly a blessing. My Grandma has lived alone now for over 30 years, and I am so happy for her that she found someone she can share her life with. I am grateful we could be a part of such a special day.

Leland and Earlene Davidson

We told Drake that he got a new Grandpa today, and excitedly he said "Hi Grandpa" and laid his head on his shoulder for a good 5 minutes.

Such a typical picture. Everyone is smiling, except Lauren who is on her phone!

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day this year. We went to Karly's house for a fun Valentine's Day party. She had it decorated so cute, and all of the kids exchanged valentines. We ate heart shaped pizza, decorated sugar cookies, and had pink punch.

Ben, Grace and Drake

When we made valentines for Drake's friends he made sure that we made one for Laurley (Lauren). He loves her so much, and I think he thinks they are friends, like she and he are the same age. So, Drake called Lauren and asked her out on a date for Valentine's. He got her a rose and picked her up at the front door. When we got in the car Drake said "This is so fun!" and a few minutes later put his hand on Lauren's shoulder and said "Laurely, you look really cute!" It was darling, and I was so happy that Lauren would come hang out with us!

St. George with Grandpa and Grandma Wood

The end of January we went to St. George with Barb and Syd. Josh needed to do some work, and we all needed some warmer weather. It was beautiful the whole time we were there. Drake was awesome on the way down, and the way home (thank goodness for the iPad.)

On our way down, we stopped at a gas station to change Drake's diaper. As he was laying there he pointed to the picture above and said. "Look Mom, it's baby Jesus!"

The first night we were there we went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant for some Hibachi Grill. Drake hated it!! The fire scared him, and he didn't want to have anything to do it. So between Josh, Me, Barb and Syd we walked with him and kept him entertained while the others ate. The next day we drove by this Japanese restaurant and Drake said, "The fire scare me!"

We did some shopping while we were down there, and apparently wore Drake right out. He decided he wanted a nap in the middle of Old Navy.

Drake and Grandpa watching some Mickey Mouse. (Well, Drake is watching some Mickey Mouse)

They have a pack n' play at the condo in St. George, but Drake didn't want anything to do with the "baby" bed. Now that he sleeps in a big boy bed at home, he thought he deserved the queen bed to himself. Good thing we had an extra bed, cause the kid slept great!

We enjoyed the sunshine while we were down there. The pool was closed due to remodeling, but we played on the tennis court, went on walks, and just plain and simple enjoyed walking from our car to a store without freezing!

We had a good time, and are so grateful we have a place we can go and stay when we need a little vacation!

Winter Fun

We have been trying to have as much fun as we can this winter despite the cold weather and my not feeling so great from being pregnant. Drake has been really good, and been a good boy to just hang out at home and play by himself! Here are some things that have kept us busy to pass time until the warm weather decides to arrive.

Syd and Josh finished half of our storage room as a sewing room for me. I left one weekend to a drill competition for Lauren down in Salt Lake, and when I came home the room was done. They laid carpet, set up shelves, organized all of my sewing stuff in the new room, set up Drake's big boy bed, and switched the crib to the baby's room. It was such a great thing to come home to. They couldn't have done it without Barb, who watched Drake and helped put together the shelves and the finishing touches.

James and Lexi have come out to our house quite a few times to play games, and play with Drake. Drake wanted stars on his ceiling like Uncle James has in his room, so of course James got them and put them up with him!

Ha ha I love this picture of Drake. His cheeks are bright red from playing so hard, and he looks just like his Daddy! We have loved the McDonald's play land so close to us. Drake loves to play, and I am able to sit and relax while he does it. Yes, it is actually quite relaxing!

Watching Daddy play church basketball.

Drake is so good when getting his hair cut. I think it helps that it is Holly that cuts it, but he sits still and has learned how to freeze... (and Holly gives him a ton of fruit snacks and suckers to bribe him.) I can't believe how often you have to cut little boys hair. It grows so fast.

We love hanging out with Aunt Lexi. She is always up for going to lunch, or hanging out with us while we run errands. I am especially grateful for her, because she helps so much with Drake. He loves her so much!

Daddy has had a lot of school to do, and some days he is gone all day and all night too. There have been plenty of times I haven't felt like cooking, so we go to Wendy's for some fries and sauce.

We took a day trip to Preston with the Karren kids. We stopped at Pepperidge Farm for some cheap snacks and then up to Preston to go to the fabric store and Arctic Circle play land. The kids had a great time, and Robin and I enjoyed it too!

Because of Josh being so busy with work, school and his church calling, we have spent lots of time at my parents house. They think everything Drake does is hilarious and they are all getting him to do funny things all of the time.

Drake is a great helper with laundry and making our bed, and his bed.

He loves Grandpa Great! We stop there quite often as well and play toys. Because they live right in down town Logan, it is so easy to stop there and see them. Also, they have been great to watch Drake for an hour here and there while I run some errands.

We have done our fare share of relaxing this Winter.

Yes, that is a little potty seat, and yes that is M&M's inside. Don't worry I sanitized that thing over and over until I let Drake do this. And the only reason I let him do that is because he begged and cried to eat his treats out of this bowl. He didn't understand what the bowl was.

Drake has learned to burp this winter. It is really funny, but we can't let him know we think that. He does it on purpose and then says "Excuse me" right after. We ignore it and hope it will stop.

He loves bath time, and totally needs it by the end of the day. His face is usually a filthy mess and he smells like a little sweaty boy because he never stops moving! He is either jumping or running every where we go. It is exhausting!

Daddy brings home popcorn when he has to stop at the movie theaters.

Watching Saturday morning cartoons with Grandpa.

This kid looks sad in all of these pictures, but he loves his Elmo shirt and would wear it everyday if he could!

I have done a lot of sewing this winter, and Drake is pretty good in fabric stores. The shop I go to most of the time has a play area, and it is a lifesaver!

My mom and I took a day trip to Ogden the other day. We stopped at the mall while we were down there and they had parking for expecting mothers. It was fantastic! I totally took advantage of it and appreciated it so much!

The reason we had to stop at the mall is because Drake jumped into a giant mud puddle and got it all over his pants. We went to Dillard's and found some sweats for $2.o0. While we were at the mall I rented one of those stroller car things, and of course Drake insisted on the double stroller. So, I pushed around a stroller that I could barely control. I am sure I was quite the sight.

Drake's favorite foods. He LOVES waffles, grapes and strawberries. He also loves cold cereal.

The best part of this winter is getting to hang out with this kid all day! He makes me smile and laugh every day. I am so excited for baby girl to arrive and watch Drake with his baby sister.

Attempt at Potty Training

We went through a phase a couple of months ago, where we were trying to introduce Drake to potty training. Well we did just that.. introduced him to it. That is as far as it went, and this kid is showing no interest in it! I was hoping to have him potty trained before this baby comes, but I don't think that is going to happen. I am praying for a miracle!

Engaged

My younger brother James got engaged to Lexi in January. Our family couldn't be happier about this. They are the cutest couple, and we absolutely love her. We have been hoping for this before James even knew who she was. They are getting married June 15th. Congrats you two!
