The Month of April

The month of April was nice because we received some really nice weather which allowed us to be outside and play. It is always refreshing when the weather changes. I really enjoy the different seasons and look forward to each of them.

Tessa came to town to visit family, so we went for a night out.  We went to eat at Morty's and got some good burgers. After we went and walked around campus.  Bug was a bit happy to be back on her old stompin grounds that she just laid down on the A in the TSC and took it all in.

Eating Chugz cookies and drinks at Grandpa and Grandma's. There house is a frequent stop for everyone, and you can almost guarantee that you will see someone else there other than the two of them when you stop in.  I absolutely love it!

Drake loves Jamba Juices and would go there everyday if he could. Because he has school at the University, we make pretty frequent stops there to get an after school snack.  That face is too cute to say no to.

Drake has had a lot of fun playing soccer and it is good for him to get outside and burn off some energy. It is also good for him to be part of a team and meet new friends.

Even though the weather is warm, it isn't hot. Therefore I got a little sunburned not realizing just how strong the sun actually was.

This girl has learned to pedal her bike. She loves riding it around.

Drake went through a little phase where he really liked that pirate head band and wore it around.  We were with some friends at dinner and we decided to add to the ensemble.

We have some strong Harry Potter fans with James and me. My friend Kelsi designed some Harry Potter shirts and had them printed. You bet I bought a bunch of them for my kids and myself and James got in on some of it too.  We wear them proudly!

Roz

My friend Bug has a baby daughter named Penny.  When she was born she had Torticollis, which is weak muscles in the neck. Because of this it lead to her having Plagiocephaly. Plagiocephaly is pretty much a fancy word for a head that isn't symmetrical. This resulted in her needing to wear a helmet to correct the problem.  She would be in this helmet for about 3-6 months.  Because the helmet is clear and summer is approaching, Bug was told she needed to be really careful and keep a hat on her when outdoors because she can get sunburned really easy through the helmet. Bug and I got together, whipped up a pattern and made some darling bonnets for her to wear to protect her little head.  They turned out so cute and Bug got so many compliments on them from lots of people. Because of that, I called up Bug and said, I think we should make these bonnets and sell them.  So, that is what we did and that is how roz came to be. We got the name because Bug's middle name is Rose, her daughter London's middle name is Rose and Stella's middle name is Rose. So we named it after that and gave it a little spin on the spelling.  Because social media is so big and everyone has an instagram account, we decided to just do it through instagram. We opened up an account just for this and people pay us through pay pal.  We just started it, but it has been really fun and has done quite well. It has kept us busy, and is so fun to have a creative outlet. I enjoy sewing so much and have always wanted to do something like this, but couldn't come up with a good idea of what to make. I love doing it with Bug and especially love that we both know that family comes first.  I am really excited about this, and hope to see it grow in the next few months.

This is our traditional bonnet that we first started out with. It is called the Penny Bonnet.

We had a fun little photo shoot and did a collaboration with Downeast Basics using their kids clothes with our bonnets. The pictures turned out pretty dang cute.

This is our Stella Bonnet. It is just like the Penny bonnet, but with out the brim.

We have sold quite a few bonnets and have babies all over the world, yes you heard that right, WORLD...wearing our bonnets!

Bug and I named ourselves the Blonde haired, Red lipped lasses and put some faces to our business with these pictures that we posted to introduce ourselves.

We had a booth at the farmer's market in North Logan. It was fun, but because this market is so new, it was very small and didn't get much traffic.  We decided to stick to online sales.

The picture on the left was sending out our first batch of bonnets. We had been up late the night before sewing them, and then went to the post office the next morning to ship them all off. All of us including our kids were still in our pj's and were quite a sight when we walked into that post office.

The picture on the right.... well... we were asked to do a few bonnets for some girls that went on the youth pioneer trek.  They are really ugly, but gave us a dang good laugh.

Stella Rose Turns 3

Stella Rose Wood turned 3 on April 19th. I can't believe she is already 3 years old. She is the happiest little girl with the sweetest, cutest smile I have ever seen.  She is funny and loves life! She has always been a really good eater. She will eat almost anything we put in front of her.  She adores her big brother Drake and will do anything he does and follows him around all day long.  She has recently moved into the same room as him and loves it. She loves to read books, she loves to dance and she loves playing with her friends.  She is a Daddy's girl.  She adores him, and he adores her.    She has some moments of being very sassy and some moments where she is very sweet.  She loves to get dirty and she also loves to dress up as a princess. She is one of a kind, and we love her so much and love having her sweet spirit in our home. Happy Birthday Stella!

She was really nervous for her 3 year old check up, but was happy when she didn't have to get any shots and got a sticker at the end of her appointment.  She is average height, skinny and healthy.

Stella woke up on her birthday ready to party. She was pretty excited that the day was going to be all about her. She wanted toast, milk and a bowl of peanut butter for breakfast, so that is what she got.  She was pretty happy to get her Minnie Mouse helmet that didn't come off of her head most of the day.

In the early evening we had a party with family at Adam's Park.  We had yummy cherry cheesecake and limeades and opened presents.

She was so excited to get Doc McStuffins toys. She also got a really cute snow white barbie, some Minnie Mouse headphones, new clothes, a big puzzle, and a couple new books. She is one lucky little girl who is loved by so many.

She was even lucky to get a birthday message from her Aunt Lauren in Florida.  A member in her ward sent my mom this picture.  I was so excited to see it and thought it was very sweet of Lauren to remember her niece. 

Drake & Grandma go to St. George

Grandma Lisa had to go to St. George to do some things around the condo, so she asked us if it would be ok if she took Drake with her. We said, "absolutely" and sent him with her.  He was so excited to go down there and was so excited to have some one on one time with Grandma Lisa.  He was spoiled rotten and Grandma did pretty much everything Drake wanted to do. They went swimming, got big snow cones, ate what Drake wanted to eat, and went to the children's museum. 

While they were gone, I enjoyed the time at home with just Stella and took advantage of only having one child. By the time the couple of days were over, we were ready to have Drake back!
