The 4th of July

The 4th of July is by far my favorite holiday, but this year was a a bit of a bummer. The kids looked absolutely adorable, but the pregnancy sickness started on July 3rd, the night of the fireworks and hit so hard and so fast!!! I have never been more sick in my entire life.

We did most of our celebrating on July 3rd for the fireworks. We went to my parents house for dinner and to watch the fireworks that night.

Even though I am only 6 weeks pregnant, I started feeling so sick I didn't have a choice but to tell everyone.

Once it was dark we went to the Elliott's house to sit in their backyard to watch the fireworks. It was the perfect spot!

I came home that night and crashed.... when I woke up I felt so sick and knew I had a long road ahead of me.

James and Lexi came out and got the kids so I could rest and took them out to Lexi's grandma's house in Newton.  They love going out there because of the cool chair on her stairs.

Then they took them to my parents house to play in the pool and jump on the tramp.

Stella made her stepping stone with her hand print in it and got to decorate it the way she wanted to.

That night they did fireworks at my parents house and I stayed home in bed. I was pretty down because i didn't feel good, but mostly because I was missing this family time on my favorite holiday.

The next day I was in the hospital getting fluids and took these pictures to remind myself how awful it was and how sick I felt!

The Month of June

The month of June was a good one. We plunged into summer and took advantage of no school and nice weather and tried to have as much fun as we possibly could.

We went to the pool with friends.

Stella and I went to Elli's dance review.

Hayley and I took a class at the fabric store in Preston on her birthday.  We learned how to make these shirts. It wasn't too hard and a lot of fun to learn.

We stopped to rest at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

Stella had a princess camp she went to with her friends. It was darling and she loved every minute of it. The last day, prince charming came to celebrate coronation day with them.

We had a garage sale and we sold this highchair that we have used for our two kids.  It was my highchair when I was a kid. It has been a good one, but it is pretty worn out and takes up a lot of space.  I was kind of sad to see it go, but was happy to sell a bunch of other stuff we didn't need anymore and make some extra cash.

Drake Plays Tee Ball

This kid started Tee Ball and he likes it a lot. His Dad wasn't too happy to find out that he was put on the Yankees.  I just had to laugh out loud!

We enjoyed going to the games and cheering our little baseball player on.

I think Drake's favorite part was the treats he got after.

Summer is the best for a lot of reasons, but one is not having to do your kids hair and it is totally ok cause no one is ready!

Josh ended up helping coach the team and had a blast with them!

Who says that Yankee Fans and Red Sox fans can't be friends?

Josh decided to take matters into his own hands and change some things!

Sister Rohwer is Home

So my sister has been experiencing some serious stomach pains and issues and has been pretty miserable the last couple of months. She has loved the missionary work but has really struggled because of being so sick all of the time. She met with some doctors in Florida, but after a lot of thinking, praying and counseling with her mission president and my parents the decision was made for her to come home. Her mission president is an amazing man that said, "her time is done and she has done all she was sent here to do" He made sure that when she left she was feeling no guilt for coming home earlier than anticipated and that she served a wonderful mission and was an outstanding missionary. So, with that said, she is now home and I was so excited and happy to see her.

Waiting patiently for her to get off the plane and come down the escalator.

My parents were the first to greet her and hug her tight. We all then followed and were all so happy to see her.

My kids were more than excited to see their Aunt Laurley!

That day we stopped and got something to eat on the way home at Zupa's and then went to my parents house where we all hung out and talked to Laur.  She was released later in the evening. It is so good to have her home.

She had only been home a couple of days and Drake was already asking to have a sleepover. He got his wish and was so happy about it.

She also got home just in time to come with Drake and I to see the musical Mary Poppins. It was so good and one of the best performances I have ever seen. It was done by a local group here in Logan and they performed it at Sky View High School.  It seriously was so amazing and so well done. We went to eat first and then went to the show where Drake didn't get bored once, he loved it!

My friend Celeste was in the show and did a phenomenal job.

A good friend of mine from High School, Ty Whitesides who is now a famous author was Bert.  He did such a great job and was so fun to watch.  Drake loved watching him and was jealous he got to be close to Mary Poppins.  It was a great nice, and I am so happy my sister was home to enjoy it with me.

Father's Day

For Father's Day this year we spent the day with Josh's family and then saw my dad later in the day.  We had a great day but didn't take any pictures.  For Father's Day this year the kids and I gave Josh some updated pictures of the two kids in their Aggie gear up on the A.  Bug took the pictures for us and I got them framed and gave them to Josh. I loved the way the pictures turned out and Josh loved them too.

I am grateful for the Fathers in my life:

My Father who has taught me to be kind, forgiving, to love unconditionally and to be goofy.

My Father In Law who loves me like I am his own, and by example raised the man who is a wonderful husband to me and Father to Drake and Stella. He is who is he because of his wonderful Father.

My Grandpa who has cheered my on through thick and thin and has taught me to always be happy and find the good in everything.

My Husband and the Father to my kids.  My kids adore him and so do I.  I am so happy and grateful that we are doing this parenting thing together.  He has the Dad thing down, and is really good at it.

Happy Father's Day to these men who I love and care about so much!
