Drake's Newborn Pictures

My friend Mari-Catherine took these pictures of Drake when he was just a couple weeks old. They turned out so great, and I am so glad she was willing to take them for us. I am so happy to have these darling pictures of him when he was so small and new. I know I will cherish these pictures forever.

I feel like a Grocery Store

I have wanted to make my own bread for a while, but just needed to learn how to do it. My mom taught me tonight, and our family will be having homemade bread from now on. It is so good, and pretty darn cheap per loaf. So.... I am going to be making bread, producing milk and every once in a while givin out a little sugar! And that is why I feel like a grocery store.

Drake's Blessing Day

Drake was blessed on January 3rd. It was a wonderful day and he looked so handsome. My parents got him an outfit when they were in Italy this summer, and it worked perfect to bless him in. It is so adorable, and I am glad we could use it. Josh gave him a beautiful blessing, and Drake slept the whole time. I know that Drake has a lot of good things ahead of him. He is going to be a great example to all those around him. I love him so much and am so grateful he is a part of our family. After the blessing we went to my parents house for lunch. It was a wonderful day. Thanks to all of the friends and family for coming and being a part of our special day. We love you!

Honky Tonk Homicide

A nasty murder investigation sure can disrupt Karaoke Night, especially when everyone in town is a suspect! Bubba Angus, owner of Bubba's Bar in Cactus, Texas was found dead in his office, shot and killed by a .22 caliber pistol. Who was the murderer? You will just have to wait and see.

We had so much fun on New Year's Eve. All of us made our tastiest texan style dishes, dressed in our finest clothes, locked up our trailers and hopped in our trucks and went to the Neil's. Each of us were given a character before the party to dress up as. Below are all of the characters and a brief description about them... see if you can figure out who killed Bubba Angus.

Hayley - Sheriff Sissy Wesson - The sexy, yet fierce and respected, sheriff of Cactus, Texas
John- Carney Folk - An angry and sleazy carnival worker, passing through town

Karly - Twyla Fleetwood - Cactus Court Trailer Park owner and designer of her own nuclear holocaust bunker.
Danny - Rowdy Lawless - A bad boy with a short temper and a love for his bike.

Liz - Crystalline Daniels - The young, beautiful and promiscuous barmaid.
Chad - Dusty Diamond - Host of Karaoke Night at Bubba's with big dreams of Country Western stardom.

Josh - Reverend Jim Bob Eternity - The town's beloved TV evangelist.
Ashley - Mary Kay Eternity - The preacher's wife, struggling for her own identity.

As we played the game, we learned a little more about each character and quickly realized that each of us had our own sleazy story with Bubba. Everyone of us could have been the killer, but only one of us did it.

The killer was Reverend Jim Bob Eternity. All because of a little jealousy and a scandalous wife, he will be spending lots of time in the county jail.

Drake's first Christmas

This christmas was a lot of fun. We spent christmas eve and christmas day with my family this year. Josh, Lauren, Drake and I went to the movie "The Blind Side" on christmas eve day, then went to my grandparents for the usual: Good dinner, lots of laughs, acted out the nativity, and got a visit from Santa. We then went to my parents house where we opened our christmas pj's, forgot to put out cookies for santa, heard the bells, and went to bed.

Christmas morning we woke up to lots of fun things. Even though Drake couldn't have cared less about it all, it was still fun to have him here and to see what he got from Santa. The best thing about the whole day was talking to James. We didn't get to talk to him for very long, but it was just good to hear his voice. He is doing great and he has almost been gone a year. We are all so proud of him and love him very much. After we talked to James we had crepes and relaxed. Later that night we had curry at my mom's house (weird tradition I know, but we love it). It was a fabulous day!

It doesn't take much to be the Santa at the Cache Valley Mall

Drake wasn't so sure about this Santa character. The first time meeting this jolly old man shouldn't be in the mall. It is a bad first impression, and I think I may have scarred my kid for life. This Santa smelled funny, had a very fake beard, and was no more than 18 years old. Drake needs to meet the real Santa, cause the mall Santa is giving him bad dreams!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

We have really enjoyed the last couple weeks of holiday festivities. We joined the Karrens for family home evening and decorated sugar cookies.

This was Cooper's cookie. Doesn't that look yummy?

We had a Christmas party with our friends. We played games and ate dinner. It was really fun, and even Cousin Eddy stopped in to say hello......

John was missed at this party.... he was home sick!
