Fall Harvest

Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love everything about it.  The smells, the crisp in the air, the colors, sweaters, socks, baking, and canning yummy food for the winter.  I was able to get quite a bit done this year and loved every second of it!

I love this woman with my whole heart.  There is something so special about a grandma.  I either call her or see her everyday. She gives me great advice, helps me with my kids, she laughs at me, she gives great hugs, and she teaches me new things.  One of those things is canning.  I have watched her and my mom do this my whole life and I love that I am doing it for my family.  I really enjoy it because of the yummy food I get from it, but mostly because I get to spend time with my grandma.

My kids love her just as much as I do.  They are lucky to have such an awesome grandma great!

The first thing I got done were peaches. My Grandpa and Grandma helped me one afternoon and we got 9 quarts of peaches done.

A few friends and I went to Cove to pick some Choke Cherry's.  I didn't even know what they were at first but apparently they make good syrup, so what the heck.... I went and picked some.

Drake loved it and thought it was so much fun.

Then we took those choke cherries and made syrup with them.  We had so much syrup between all of us, but it was fun learning how to make it and it turned out so delicious.

Next up was tomatoes. I love tomatoes so much, and I love cooking with these bottled tomatoes.  They are so awesome in Chili and Goulash.  My sweet Grandma and Grandpa helped me with these too.

Last but not least I made Salsa. This part was my favorite! It smells so good while it is cooking, and it is so dang good when it is done.  I had never made Salsa before and so my Grandma helped me make it and taught me everything I need to know so that I can do it again next year.

With all of help my grandparents have given me canning I decided I better help them out. I vacuumed and mowed the lawn.

The best grandparents in the whole wide world!  They have always been some of my biggest fans, and I am theirs!!

I have always wanted to learn how to make pies.  Pie is Josh and my favorite dessert. I have always just made it the easy way with a pre-made Marie Calendar's pie crust.  Finally I found someone that knew how to make yummy pies and she taught me how to make an awesome pie crust. My friend Tessa is awesome at baking and she makes a pretty dang good pie!

I had a great time with this fall harvest!

Aggie Homecoming Game 2013

Josh and I went to the Aggie Homecoming Game.  We played Weber State and we killed them. The final score was 70-6.  It was fun to be in the stadium with all the other Aggie Fans for the first home game.

It started to rain at halftime but we stayed until the end of the 3rd quarter.  It was really cold and my feet were really wet, but it was still fun to stay and cheer on our Aggies!

Crazy Sundays

Because of Josh being in the bishopric, it has made Sundays an interesting day for me.  But one Sunday was really bad. I got to church on time, but after I sat down it all went down hill from there.  We were sitting there and all of the sudden the elastic that was in my hair just broke leaving my hair a mess in my face. Right as that happened Drake said he had to go to the bathroom and Stella pooped and it stunk really bad.  So I hauled them out of sacrament meeting and got them in the car to go home and get ourselves put back together.  As I was loading Stella in the car I looked over and Drake had dropped his pants and was peeing on the rocks in the front of the church.  Luckily no one saw because I was absolutely humiliated!!  I got home and got everything and everyone put back together, grabbed a diet coke and went back to church.

Well I didn't buckle Stella in very tight because as I was driving, this is what I saw in the rear view mirror.  Crazy kids!

Mommy Son Weekend

Drake and I had the best weekend.  We went on a little Mommy Son Weekend Date.  Grandma Lisa came as well.  We had a great time just Drake and I.  We dropped Stella off at Holly's house until Daddy could finish up with work. We went to the scarecrow festival with a couple of friends from the ward.

Drake and Hunter are pretty good friends.

Tessa with the scarecrows drinking lemonade :)

Drake and I really liked the Michael Jackson scarecrow.

After the scarecrow festival we met my Mom and drove to Salt Lake.  We went to IKEA first.  Drake is now old enough and potty trained so he can play in the play place they have there.  He was so excited and it helped me get some Christmas shopping done and get it done a lot faster.  After that we went and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the City Creek Marriott.  My Mom went with her friend Mardee to the James Taylor Concert that was at the conference center so Drake and I hung out by ourselves at City Creek.

We did a little bit of shopping and then ate some pizza in the food court (That is where Drake wanted to eat)!  It was so much fun to just sit there and talk to Drake.

After dinner we got a cookie from Kneaders.

Then we went back to the hotel and went swimming.  Drake loves to swim and this was the part he was looking forward to the most.

He was so worn out when we got back that he fell asleep so fast!

The next morning we got room service and it was so good!

Then we put on his Jake and the Never Land Pirate shirt and went shopping for Drake some new shoes.

We found a pair of Tom's that are easy for him to get on and off but they are dang cute too!

Then we got in a taxi and went to the Energy Solutions Arena to see Jake and the Never Land Pirates live on Stage.

Grandma got us lots of treats!

The show was so cute.  Drake was in heaven.  He got to see Mickey and Minnie, Jake and his crew, Captain Hook, Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins.  It was the cutest show!

When we got out of the show it was raining really hard.  My mom found a garbage sack to put over her head.... she is a crazy old girl!

On our way home we stopped at Target and of course Grandma spoiled him so more with an Icee and a Jake telescope and pirate headband.

It was an awesome weekend and I am glad that I could go and spend some time with just Drake. It was so fun to spend some time with my mom too.  What a fun weekend. Everyone needs to do this with their kids when they can, it was a great weekend and a memory I will never forget.  I love that Drakey boy so much!

While I am talking about Drake, I just had to throw in this cute picture.  We went to the fun park with Annie and her kids and the three kids hit the jack pot on one of the games and got like 500 tickets each.  It was hilarious and so fun for the kids to pick out their prizes!
