Josh and I were so fortunate to go on a trip to Mexico with the people that Josh works with. Everything was paid for so that was even nicer! There was a mixture of employees and clients that went . Almost everyone was from Salt Lake except for Josh and me and his three clients that went and they were from Logan and St. George. The whole group was so much fun and we had a blast all week long and made life long friendships!
We left on a Sunday early in the morning. We had a layover in L.A. And then flew straight to Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at the Hard Rock Resort right on the beach! It was an all inclusive resort and very nice! The night we got there they did a welcome dinner for us right by the beach. We got to visit with everyone and get to know the people that were there!
The next day was spent relaxing. We slept in and then laid by the beach all day long. It was really hot and humid but it felt oh so good! I was amazed at how warm the ocean was. It didn't even really cool us down because it was so warm! It was so fun to just relax all day with Josh and drink as much diet Pepsi as I wanted!! (I was a little disappointed they didn't have diet coke!)
We saw some interesting creatures while being outside. The big long iguana thing creeped me out!! It was so huge and they were everywhere!
Later that day we got cleaned up and went and walked around outside of the resort. Across the street was a casino and a pharmacy. We went inside the pharmacy to see if they had a diet coke and I found something even better.... Coca Cola light!! They had this in Romania and so it brings back so many great memories for me! The taste is just a little different than diet coke and I was so excited to get my hands on a bottle of this stuff!
Later that evening we went to eat at the Italian restaurant at the resort. It was really yummy and just so much fun to sit with Josh and have dinner and talk and enjoy eachother. It rained really hard that night so we sat outside on the deck and listened to the rain and the music that was playing. Because of it being the Hard Rock resort, there was always loud music playing!
The next day was one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life! We left the resort and got on a little boat that took us to the other side of the island and dropped us off in a little private cove.
Once we got there we got on these big high adventure off road vehicles that took us all the way to the top of the mountain. It was really bumpy but so fun. I felt like I was on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.
The town that we were in was very poor and the people were very sweet and humble.... Very nice people!
When we got to the tip we got out of the vehicles and were greeted by........
Is that not the most disgusting thing you have ever seen?? Gross!!! It was so huge and terrifying!
We got all our gear on and we were ready to go!
So as I mentioned before we had a great time with the people that were on the trip with us! We hung out with all of them everyday and went to dinner with them at night. We didn't take any pictures with them because we were too busy having fun but we did get pictures of the people that came on this adventure with us.
This is the Bloxham Family. He is one of Josh's clients from St. George. They are an awesome family with awesome kids!! There were really fun to get to know!
The is Blake and Sue Anderson. He is over all of the Megaplex theaters. We really enjoyed getting to know them. They are really neat, good people!
Jeremy and Robin Castro. These two were some of my favorites!! He also works for Megaplex. They were so fun to be around and we really enjoyed getting to know them! They were funny and so fun to talk to. She was hilarious and I give josh a hard time cause she totally had a crush on him:)
Here is part of the group we ear were with. Another couple on here that we don't have a picture of are the Whelan's. Jennie and Jason were so fun to be around and I am do glad that we got to know them cause they are friends that we will be friends with forever! She didn't feel well so she didn't come on this with us, but Jason did. There were so many other fun people that we got to know and we hung out with but they didn't come on this adventure with us so i didn't get pictures of them.
So after we got dressed in our gear we went and got on Mules that took us to the very top of the mountain. I was really anxious for this part and wasn't so sure how much I would Iike it, but it ended up being my favorite part. It was so much fun and so dang funny!! The mules would race eachother up the mountain and we would just bounce on them. I was laughing so hard!!
At the top of the mountain we did a series of things to get down the mountain. We ziplined, repelled, and went down water slides to get us back down to the base. It was a blast!!!
So this is Jud and Sadie Eades. They too are Josh's clients and they are some of my favorite people. They live here in Logan and we have since gotten together with them. Ther were so much fun and I am so glad we met them.
Repelling down the waterfall was so scary at first and then so much fun!
The last zip line we went on was one where you hung upside down! I couldn't just let myself go and hang there... It was scary and it really hurt my back!!
The last waterside was really steep and really fast and really fun!! The whole thing was such an adventure and all of it was something that I have never done before... I can now check off zip lining and repelling down a waterfall off of my bucket list! The best part about it all was i got to do it with my very best friend!
At the end we just hung out for a little bit until our boat got there. It was an awesome day and I am so glad we did it. We went back to the hotel and got cleaned up and ate dinner and then went to the casino and played a few hands of black jack:)
The next day was spent just hanging out by the pool and beach, reading, playing beach volleyball, eating lots of chips and salsa and fruit and drinking plenty of diet cokes!
Later that night we went to dinner in the city with Josh's boss Mark and his wife Loy, and the two clients from St. George. We went to the most amazing authentic Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa were so good! It was fun to get out of the resort and see the city.
The next day was another day to work on my tan and relax!! I do this very well:). We did the same thing as the day before. Swim, relax, read, volleyball, eat, relax and eat!!
That night we walked down the beach and went to a place where they gather turtle eggs from the beach and then when they hatch they release them into the ocean. We got to be apart of that and it was so cool!! Instead of just putting them in the water we had to put them higher up on the sand and then watch them crawl out into the ocean.
When the turtles are just born they are black in color. But when they grow up they turn to more of a greenish brown color .
That night we went to dinner with the Whelan's and then went and got Deseret with the Whelan's and Anderson's. We sat and talked with them for a long time and had a great conversation. The Anderson's have adopted a couple of boys and so I was very interested in that and I admire them so much because of what they have done for those boys!
The next day was again spent at the beach and then that night we went out again into the city with more people and Josh's Logan clients the Eads! We went shopping around the city at first and did a lot of souvenir shopping. Then we went to eat at the same restaurant we ate at a couple nights before. I didn't even care because the food was so good!
These darling kids were selling all sorts of stuff! I could not say no!! They were beautiful children and it broke my heart that they were out so late trying to make money when they should have been home in bed!
We learned how to make some awesome salsa!!
The last day there we spent hanging out on the beach with our friends! We also walked along the beach and looked in all of the shops!
What a great trip!! Seriously we had so much fun with everyone that was there but mostly with eachother. It was such a fun getaway for the two of us. I love that guy of mine with all of my heart! Thank you Megaplex for a great week!!
