It's a.......GIRL!!!

Isn't she cute? We think so! She has Drake's little turned up nose. She was pretty shy and didn't give us a great shot, but the ultrasound technician was positive it was a girl and could see all of the parts. All I could see was that there were absolutely NO boy parts there! I think you can tell a lot about kids personalities from their ultrasounds and their birth. It was that way with Drake for sure!! With this one, she seems to be pretty high maintenance. She didn't want to cooperate at first, and then once we got her to start moving around, she didn't stop. There was one part of the ultrasound where she was waving at us. She had her fingers and hand just a going! It was so cute, and if we could hear her talk she would have been saying...."Hi Mom, Hi Dad... beware, I have a lot of personality, and I am going to cost you a lot of money Daddy!" We can't wait to see our little princess!

Thanksgiving 2011

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Haliey, Idaho with Josh's family. We drove up to Pocatello on Wednesday night and then drove Thursday to Hailey. It was a lot of fun. All of Josh's family on his Mom's side was there. There were a lot of kids for Drake to play with. He loved it. We had a great dinner and enjoyed spending time with each other.

Drake's Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

Drake is obsessed with Mickey Mouse. So, it made sense to do a Mickey Mouse party for his 2 year old birthday party. We didn't go all out like we did for his 1st birthday, but we still had some fun.

Grandma Barb and Grandpa Syd

Lauren, Me and Lexi

Drake loved opening presents. When he opened one, he just wanted to play with it, he didn't even care that there were more presents to be opened.

See, what I mean. Didn't want to take pictures, just wanted to play with his new toys!

When Drake was done opening presents we told him he needed to tell everyone Thank You. Well, he did just that and then some. He went around to everyone and gave each person a hug and said thank you. It was really cute and sweet. I have pictures of him doing it to everyone, but lets be honest, no one really cares about it as much as I do!

Drake is 2!

I can't believe this kid is already 2! It is amazing how fast time goes by. He is so funny and makes us laugh every day. We are so blessed to have him in our family, and love him so much. I interviewed him and asked a few questions... here is what I got!

1. What's your favorite color? Green and Orange
2. What's your favorite toy? Cars
3. What's your favorite food? My nose
4. What's your favorite thing about Church? See friends and play toys
5. Who is your best friend? Cooper

A friend of mine took some pictures of Drake and they turned out fantastic! We got him laughing so hard that he was smiling in almost every picture.

Here are some more things that make Drake who he is...

  • Hey says "Sank you" to everything
  • When we pray he always wants us to bless Grandpa and Lucy (my parents dog)
  • Loves us to sing him songs at bedtime and knows all of them
  • Loves his Binky
  • He says "BOO" to scare us and thinks it is hilarious
  • Loves to jump on the "trampeen"
  • Loves to play with cars, and wants anyone around to sit on the ground and play with him
  • He wants a doggy
  • Loves Nursery
  • Loves Mickey Mouse
  • Loves books and puzzles
  • When you ask him what a train conductor says he says, "All Aboard!"
  • When something is funny he says, "that's too funny"
  • When he is hungry he says, "I too hungry"
  • One night Josh and I tucked him in bed, as we were leaving the room we said "goodnight Drake" he said...."Bye Guys"!
What a funny kid. We are sure glad we have him around!

Big Brother

That's right, Drake is going to be a big brother, and by the look on his face in that picture he doesn't look so happy about it! We are so excited and I know Drake will be too. Yes his world is going to be rocked, but he already gives the baby kisses and says hi to it. We are due in April and find out what it is in a couple of weeks! We are so excited to have another little person in our family and already love it so much.

Halloween 2011

We had a great Halloween season! This year Drake was old enough that we could start doing some fun things and start traditions. The only thing we didn't get to, was decorating Halloween sugar cookies. I guess there is always next year. As you can see Drake was a lion, and a very cute lion. He would roar at pretty much every one we saw.

We started the festivities with going to the Pumpkin Walk for Family Night with Sheldon and Nikki. It was pretty cold, and we picked the busiest night to go, but we waited in line and went through. It was really cute, and we learned a lesson that going during the day is probably a better time with kids!

Drake wasn't so sure about it, but it was all worth it when he saw the Mickey Mouse pumpkin!

The next thing we did, was our ward Halloween party. We had dinner and they had a carnival for the little kids. Josh is in charge of the Deacons, and they put on a game called "Wack a Scout" like the game "Wack a Mole" The kids loved it. It was pretty funny!

Cutest lion ever!

Grace and Drake at the ward party. Look at her cute Wonder Woman costume that Hayley made. I love this picture of them.... and look at Grace she is totally pulling a face that looks just like John.

Grandpa, Grandma and Cooper came over and we carved a pumpkin. The little boys were more interested in playing with toys than they were carving pumpkins, but we got one carved for our front porch, thanks to Grandpa Syd!

The day of Halloween we met up with some friends and went to Lee's to go Trick or Treating. It was pretty cute, they had different stations that they could get treats and then a spook alley in the back (that traumatized the children), but it was a lot of fun! We let the kids walk through the whole store, when we should have put them in this cart, and Karly and I would have at least left there with half of our brains! You should have seen us.... wow! I am surprised we weren't kicked out of Lee's for life! Then we headed over to a pizza place for lunch and between five adults and seven kids... they were ready to see us go too!

We took Drake Trick or Treating to some of his favorite spots... first the Kendricks.

Then the Johns, Grandpa and Grandma Haslam and Rohwers!.

Then the Karrens, where they were having food, hot chocolate and treats for the whole neighbor hood. It was so fun, they had a big fire and lots of people! It was a blast!

Three Singing Pigs

Drake talks all the time, and he talks all day long!! Seriously this kid is never quiet. It makes me laugh every day and I am glad I get to listen to that cute little voice all day long. He learns so many new words every day, and it is so fun to actually be able to have a conversation with the little guy. The other night I was reading this book to him and letting him fill in the blanks. Well, I didn't know he would know all of them, and laughed out loud when he knew what three singing pigs say. (They say la, la, la!)
