Josh and I went on a very fun vacation to Newport, Oregon. Thanks to Robin and Ted we had a place to stay right on the water. The weather was a little cold, but it didn't matter we still had a lot of fun, and found fun things to do. We flew in to Portland on Tuesday night and stayed in a hotel there. We were going to go to the Portland Temple Wednesday morning but Josh realized the day we left that his temple recommend was expired. But we went anyway and walked around the temple and made sure to at least touch it.
We left Portland and headed on our Drive to Newport. We took the longer route so we could drive down the coast. We stopped in Tillamook, Oregon and went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. It was really interesting to see how it was made. The best part was the free samples of cheese and the great Tillamook ice cream! Delicious! We drove down the coast, and it was so beautiful. We got into Newport a little late due to Ashley having to stop at the factory outlet stores in Lincoln City.

We spent all day Thursday and Friday in Newport. We went to the Newport Aquarium. It was fun to learn about the different sea animals. While we were there we met a guy named David. David was slightly disabled, and was one of those people that just makes you smile! Josh and I were sitting at a table eating a snack we had brought of cheese and crackers. David had just gotten some ice cream and came to sit and eat it. He asked us what we were doing and we told him eating cheese and crackers. He got the worst look on his face and said "Cheese and crackers.. YUCK!" It is better if we could show how he did it and how he sounded. We told him that we were expecting our first baby and he told us we would should have just bought a dog instead! When we were leaving he felt that he needed to show us he had no teeth! We are glad we had the opportunity to meet him!

While we were there, we enjoyed some great seafood!! One night Josh oredered a meal called "Fishwives Stew". Let me tell what it looked like from my eyes. It looked like a fisherman's wife went out in the ocean, took a bucket, dipped it in the water, came home, put it in a pot, gave a little squeeze of tomato, plopped some bread on top, and served it. This had everything you could think of in it. Clams, mussels, scallops, lobster, oyster, etc. I think I even saw part of an old boot in there! But Josh loved it and that is all that matters! I just enjoyed some fish and chips!
We also spent time looking in the shops along the bay, watched people catch crab, took a long nap, slept in every day, watched Seinfeld, went to the Wax Works Museum (which was a waste of money), flew a kite, and enjoyed being close to the ocean.

Saturday we drove back to Portland. We spent some time in the city shopping and went to Dinner. Now there was a very memorable event that happened while we were in Portland that I think Josh and I unfortunately will never forget. We were trying to find a parking spot when I looked up and noticed about 30 bikers completely naked!! They were just taking a ride down the middle of the city. I am embarrassed to say the next part and hope that it will not offend or have anyone think differently of Josh and me but we both laughed and embarrassed to say followed them to snap a picture....(I was very careful in the picture I took.) I thought it was just men, but no there were women also!! And when I say naked I mean naked! It was very interesting and made us very happy to live in the great sheltered town of Logan Utah.
Sunday we had some time before we had to catch our flight, we went and got something to eat and JOSH, yes I said JOSH, brought up the idea of getting pedicures. We drove by a place and he just pulled in.... he had ever had one before and of course he didn't have to pull my leg, I was all for it. It was funny though, Josh did say, "I don't have to get my toenails painted do I?" Ha Ha I laughed. It was really fun and I enjoyed it so much that I didn't take any pictures. We had so much fun on this trip! Thank you Robin and Ted for letting us use your timeshare.

Ash, I'm glad you could experience my home town in its fullness. I love the naked bikers I wish you could of also gotten interrupted by the gay parades that happen so often, but the naked bikers could have been apart of a gay parade. I wish I was there to see that . Maybe you could email me the pic??? AHAHAAH
