It is back to school time and we actually have a kid that is going to school this year. Drake is starting Kindergarten, and I can't believe he is already old enough to be doing this. He is so excited and so ready to start. He has loved preschool so much, but is even more excited about Kindergarten because it is a little bit longer, and he gets to ride the bus. We had back to school night where we went and met Drake's teacher. He has Ms. Labrum. She is really young and absolutely darling. Drake is so lucky to have her for his teacher.
While we were at back to school night, he was given his first homework assignment which was a sheet asking him all about who he is! This is what it says:
I am an awesome Kindergartener. My name is Drake and my birthday is November 15th. My favorite thing about school is field trips. When I grow up I want to be a Vet. My favorite color is orange, number is 100, game is Spot It, TV show is Paw Patrol, letter is D, food is pizza, animal is dog and place is Disneyland. With our help, he filled out the whole thing by himself.
His first day of school he was so excited but also so nervous. I was super excited for him too. We walked to the bus stop and met up with all of the other kids that go to afternoon kindergarten.
He was so nervous to get on that bus, but so brave!! He hopped on there and was assigned his seat and sat down. He watched me out the window and then I sat and cried as I watched him drive away. I didn't think I would shed one tear. Oh boy was I wrong. It was a good thing I had sunglasses on.
When he got home from school that day he was soooo happy and loved every bit of kindergarten.
Stella started her first year of preschool at The Owl Tree Preschool here in Smithfield. Her teacher is Amy Hilton and it is a darling little school. Stella had back to school night as well and she loved going to see her classroom and meet her new teacher and friends in her class.
We let her pick out her backpack and this is the one she picked. She loves Peppa Pig and the color pink, so it was the perfect one for her.
On the actual first day of school Josh had to take her because I was so sick. He snapped some cute pictures of her though and she was so excited to be there. She came home loving it and excited to go back.
