The summer of 2015 was by far the worst summer and even the worst months of my entire life. I was miserable all summer long and couldn't snap out of being so sick. Josh was a rock star all summer long and took care of EVERYTHING. He worked full time, took care of kids, cleaned, did laundry, cooked food, washed the car, did the grocery shopping, paid the bills and took care of me. He did it all with a smile on his face. I seriously could not have picked a better man to marry! I was amazed at him all summer long. He didn't complain once! Between he and my mom, they did everything that had to be done in our household and with our kids. They even potty trained Stella and took Stella's binky away. It was a blessing to me because there was just no way I could do any of that. I was flat in bed from throwing up and being to weak to even stand. I also spent most of my days in the hospital getting fluids and medicine. I was looking through Josh's phone getting all of his pictures off of it for this blog and found so many that I had never even seen and didn't even know they did. I seriously missed the entire summer and it makes me so sad. I am so grateful for the family and friends that stepped in and took care of us. We really couldn't have done it without you and I am so grateful and feel so blessed for all of the good people that surround me.
Swimming and playing at Robin and Ted's house. Those four kids are lucky to have each other as cousins. They play well together and have a blast. Thank you Robin for taking care of them and letting my kids be there with you this summer!
I thought this was funny. Earlier in the week John Neil had sent Josh and I a group message with a joke (he does this often). Well a few days later Josh sent me a message how I was feeling. Well he didn't send it to just me, he sent it to the message with John in it too, and I thought it was pretty funny. I really wasn't quite sure if hew as talking to me or John :)
Drake spent some time at Grandpa and Grandma Great's house and helped Grandpa plant the garden. He watched that garden grow all summer long and was so excited when it started to produce and he could eat the yummy food.
Drake also learned a new trick this summer!
Usually on the 24th of July we have a party at our house with neighbors and friends and have them all bring treats and fireworks to share, well this year we didn't do that because I didn't feel good, but we did get some fireworks lit.
Our kids spent a lot of time outside and loved the big dirt hill in our back yard. Stella loves play dough and could sit and play it for hours.
We had our annual get together with all of our friends down at Spencer and Julie's house, but there was just no way I could make it down there. Josh went and took the kids though and they had so much fun. Look at all of those darling kids!
We were really grateful that Aunt Lauren was home this summer. It was a blessing in disguise! She helped us so much and my kids loved spending the time with her. Especially Stella because Lauren would do her "paint nails".
Even thought I was flat in bed and couldn't do anything with any of my friends or family, I had a couple of them come to me and hang out in bed with me and I talked to a lot on the phone!!
Drake was a good helper all summer and made his own bed.
Josh figured out a good way of keeping Stella's hair out of her eyes but putting a chip clip in it. Very clever!
Our kids did a lot together this summer and played and got a long so well. I am so grateful that they have each other. They also Dressed themselves most of the summer too, and Stella was lucky if her hair even got pulled into a ponytail.
Stella is just at a cute and funny stage. She is so very busy and curious but so cute while she is doing it, that it is hard to get mad at her. She pretty much got away with anything and everything all summer long.
Josh was so great about trying to help me get some rest and having the house be a quiet place. He took the kids to do stuff a lot and enjoyed the nice weather outside. They went to the canyon for picnics....
And on a lot of bike rides, to Lee's, the gas station, library, and A&W. Drake learned to ride his bike this summer and would follow Josh the whole way. What a champ!
They went mini golfing and real golfing.
Seriously that man above is the worlds greatest human being! I adore him and love him more than I can say and am so grateful for his unselfishness! Thanks for getting through this summer with me Josh, you are amazing. Love you!
And this is where I was most of the summer. That or in my bed watching the TV show Parenthood, the best show ever made!
I have never been so happy to say goodbye to a summer!
