My husband and his friends signed myself and all of their wives us for the Ladies Football Clinic at Utah State and I am so glad they did. We had a blast! The clinic was put on by the football coaches and players. They had us run drills, try on pads and learn about plays. I am so lucky to have such fun friends. We seriously had a blast and laughed as some of us fell on our faces trying to be good football players. It was a riot!
Our first station was kicking. I got in through the goal posts on my very first try. After that I did terrible, but it sure felt good on that first kick.
Tessa kicking the ball.
After kicking we went over and they split our group up into 5 small groups and had us have a relay race to see who could get someone dressed in full football gear the fastest.
Tessa and I dressed Nikki and almost won.
Jennie's team won getting her all dressed up, but then she couldn't get any of it off!!
Then we had a drill that had us tackle those big things. It was hilarious. We didn't know that you could just hit them to the ground... oh no, we straddled those things and fell to the ground!
Hayley was awesome at the drills... she is so athletic!
Liz getting ready to tackle.
We had to do some drill where we would run and then catch the ball over our shoulders. Karly is above and she did awesome.
Nikki is the tiniest little thing and when she would run into the guys to try and push them out of the way to get a tackle, they wouldn't even move an inch. She is so cute and little. I just love her!
Hayley at it again!
One of the stations had us catch the ball and then throw it into a net.
We had such a great time and will definitely be doing this every year. Not only was it a fun girls night out, but it go us pumped for the football season and made us better Aggie fans.
Coach Wells. He is a nice guy! This is his first year as head coach for the Aggies, and I hope he does well.
After we ran all of the drills outside, they took us into the new training center and had the teams nutritionist talk to us about what type of diet he likes the players to be on and how to be healthy eaters. What a fun night. Go Aggies!
