Christmas Eve is so much fun! I like it better than Christmas day. There is just so much excitement and anticipation. The whole day is fun too, preparing food and listening to Christmas music. This year after we also went and met up with our friends at the jump zone to let all of the kids play. It was a lot of fun. The kids all enjoyed playing and talking about what they hope Santa was going to bring them.
That night we went to Holly and Dan's house where we had dinner and played games.
Holly had us play a really fun game. She had wrapped a ton of prizes in saran wrap into this huge ball. We all sat in a circle and rolled the dice. If you landed on doubles then you got the ball and you were able to start tearing it apart to try and get one of the prizes all before someone else rolled doubles. If you got to a prize you got to keep it. It was so much fun and competitive. Everyone loved it and we got some fun prizes. There were small gift certificates and treats.
We also had a good game of Bingo.
After games we went home to spend the rest of the evening with just our family. My parents came out for a few minutes and gave us our Christmas Eve present (the BEST present of Christmas) new pj's!! We also gave the kids their Christmas Eve present of pj's.
We read a few Christmas stories on our bed. While we were sitting their reading we hear Santa's sleigh bells. It was very magical and made us all very excited. Drake knew he needed to go get in bed because Santa was close by. He ran up those stairs so fast and was asleep within seconds.
Stella on the other hand just laid in our bed and put her hands over her eyes for a good 15 minutes. She said she was trying to go to sleep. Ha ha ha! The cute little thing was just trying her hardest to go to sleep and didn't dare open those eyes.
I love the lights of the Christmas tree. Especially when that is the only light in the house. That is the best part of the Christmas season, is being able to enjoy those pretty lights. The kids love having a tree upstairs by their rooms.
We put a special key on the front door so that Santa could get into our house because we don't have a chimney. We also left out some milk and cookies. Christmas is such a fun time of year for so many reasons. Having kids has made this holiday even more fun!
