Thanksgiving 2014

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. It was our year to be with my family.  My Grandpa and Grandma along with Dan and Holly and their family drove up to Montana to be with Kent and Holly.  So it was just the Rohwer's and the Wood's. We started the day off with everyone (except Lexi, she had to work) coming out to our house for breakfast.  I made cinnamon rolls and they were so yummy! I love Thanksgiving.  The older I get the more I LOVE this holiday.  I am starting to like it better than Christmas. As a mom, Christmas is a lot of work and is so exhausting. I am always kind of glad when Christmas is over.  But not Thanksgiving.  I am sad when the day is over.  I love this holiday because it is so fun to prepare all of the yummy food, it is refreshing to remind ourselves all that we have to be thankful for and it is a day of relaxing and being with family and friends. I have so much to be grateful for this year and always feel so overwhelmed with gratitude on Thanksgiving day.  This year wasn't any different!

Later that afternoon we went to my Mom's best friend's house who also lives next door to my Mom and Dad. We went to Greg and Shirlene Hicken's house.  It was a lot of fun and we had some amazing food.  They didn't have a very big crowd at their house and because there were just a few of us they invited us over. I was in charge of bringing some pies.

The kids made some little Turkey's.  Drake loved this.

We stayed at the Hicken house for most of the day and then later that evening we went back to my parents house and played games and ate turkey sandwiches.  It was a great day!

The day after Thanksgiving our elf Tangled came to stay with us for the month of December.  He brought the kids a present and inside were some Christmas pj's to wear leading up to Christmas.  Drake was very excited to see Tangled again this year!

The day after Thanksgiving the kids and I hung out with my Mom and Lexi.  The boys in the family went to Boise for the football game.  We stayed home and hung out at Grandma's house, did some shopping, went out to eat and took the kids to the Fun Park. We also took the kids to see Santa Claus at the mall. The people running the booth for Santa would not let us take any pictures, so unfortunately I don't have any.

Drake won a lot of tickets and got some pretty cool stuff in exchange.

The kids enjoyed their new pj's, sitting by the Christmas lights, and reading Christmas stories.  We had a great Thanksgiving Day and weekend and are looking forward to the fun few weeks ahead and Christmas.
