"Stellabration"

We had quite the "Stellabration" last weekend to celebrate Stella's first birthday.  I have pretty much been planning this birthday party since I was pregnant and found out I was having a girl!  There is something about the first birthday that is so fun.  It is not only fun to watch the one year old smash around in cake, but it is a great excuse to throw a cute party and gather loved ones together.  I also like to think of it as a party for me as the mom.  I have made it for one whole year!!!  That is something to celebrate about right there!  For her birthday we had a "Lemonade Stand".

This was the invitation.  I absolutely loved these invitations!

I made her smash cake and loved how it turned out.

The tables just had butcher paper on them with a square piece of fabric in the middle with mason jars and flowers.  I also had crayons on the table for people to color on the paper while they sat at the tables.

I made the bunting.  You can't tell here, but all of the fabric that I used to make it had lemons and lemonade on it.  It was really cute.  We had sandwiches, veggies, chips, fruity salad, cupcakes and of course lemonade.

We had a candy bar for people to get some candy to take with them when they left.  We also had a gumball guessing game.

Boston won the game. There were 503 gumballs in the jar and he guessed 500.

Grandpa Kevin feeding Stella some lunch.

The birthday girl.  She is always so happy and was really happy to have all of the people around.

I made her a birthday hat and wanted to get some pictures of her but wasn't sure if she would cooperate.  Well when the cameras came out she knew just what to do.  She sat in one spot and just smiled for the cameras.  She kept looking at all of the different people snapping pictures and was smiling and giggling the whole time!

Drake was a pretty proud brother at the party.  He thought the whole party thing was pretty awesome.

After we all had lunch it was time to let Stella eat her cake.  She just sat there by it for a while and didn't know what to do.

I put some frosting on my finger and let her taste it and then cut a piece of the cake and put it in front of her.  She ate it and loved it, but did it very dainty like.  She didn't make that big of a mess.  She sat in one spot and just kept eating some and then smiling!

After she at her cake we let Drake help her open her birthday gifts.  She got the cutest stuff.  We have awesome friends and family that came to her party and brought the cutest gifts!

The morning of her party Drake brought down a stuffed toy of his that is a little stuffed monster.  He said, "I don't need this anymore so I want to wrap it up and give it to Stella for her birthday."  It was so cute because he thought of it all on his own.  He was so cute to her and was so proud of his gift to Stella.

The "Stellabration" was a success and went just as I had planned.  It was so much fun and I was so grateful to all of our family and friends that came and celebrated with us!

I can't believe she is one year old.  That time has gone so fast!!  Here are some things about Stella at the age of one.

  • She says dada and mama and has said hi and uh-oh but doesn't anymore.  She also just babbles and screams a lot.  She likes the sound of her own voice.
  • She is the sweetest thing!  She loves to cuddle.  It is so great.  She will just lay on my shoulder for ever and cuddle and sometimes fall asleep.
  • She can fall asleep anywhere. Drake had to be in his bed or sometimes the car to fall asleep but she will fall asleep in my arms no matter where we are.
  • She is always happy and smiling.  She always has a smile on her face.
  • She eats ANYTHING and she eats a lot, yet she is so skinny.
  • She is so tiny!!  She is in the 1% for her weight.  She only weighs 16 pounds.
  • She crawls all over the place but hasn't pulled herself up to stand or walk yet.
  • She has 7 teeth.
  • She has really dark hair.  I always thought I would get a blonde child but I haven't so far.
  • She loves her brother!!  It is the cutest thing because she smiles whenever she sees him and she always crawls up to him and climbs all over him.
  • She has some curl in her hair.
  • She loves to play with magazines
  • She sleeps great!
  • She loves my Dad.  Every time he is around she wants him to hold her.
  • She has the cutest dimple in her right cheek
  • She growls when she gets excited
  • She loves diet coke.  I hardly ever give it to her, but when I do she kicks her legs and screams!
  • She has a really cute wardrobe.  I love all of her clothes!
I am just so grateful that we have Stella in our family.  She makes us so happy and brings so much joy to our family.  She is the cutest thing I have ever seen and she makes me smile every day.  I am so grateful to have a daughter!  She is so happy and it makes me happy!  I hope you will always remember how much I love you Stella.  I am so proud of you and love everything about you!

Love,

Mommy
