I absolutely love going to St. George! As I have mentioned before, Josh's parents have a condo down there so we have been lucky enough to go to St. George quite often. There are so many things I love about it, but the best part of it is being somewhere that is warmer than Logan, cheap and relaxing. When we are down there, there is no schedule to follow!
We left Logan on a Tuesday in the afternoon. When we had barely left Smithfield, Drake asked if he could see St. George out of his window. I thought it was going to be a really long drive after that. It wasn't though. Both kids did great. We made a few stops (one of them being at Target) to let the kids get out and stretch their legs and get some fresh air. We made it down there just in time for dinner.
We went to Twenty Five Main. It has awesome sandwiches and salads. They also have amazing cupcakes. It was such nice weather that we were able to eat outside. After dinner we went to the condo to unpack and while Josh got the kids to bed, I went and did the grocery shopping.
The reason we went down there was because Josh had to work and we decided to go with him this time. So he had to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. When we woke up Wednesday morning Drake was so excited to go swimming at the pool. It was so warm down there and he could hardly stand to stay inside. I told Drake that he needed to wait until Stella was asleep before we could go over to the pool. He waited so patiently!! As I sat there and fed Stella a bottle I had to snap these pictures of Drake because he was being so good, but you could see it patience running thin.
Finally we were able to go over to the pool and Drake was on cloud nine. All he wanted to do was swim in the water. He was really scared at first that I was going to let go of him and he didn't want to go under the water!
While we were there Josh had a break from work and brought us a drink and a cookie from the Swig. That place is a fun little drink and snack stop. It has the best sugar cookies I have ever had!
Once Stella woke up we brought her over to the pool and she loved being outside and swimming as well. Her hair started to get curly after she got in the pool and it has been curly every since. I think the chlorine did something to her hair. She looks so dang cute with curly hair.
Drake became very attached to this hat. He called it is swimming hat and had to wear it everywhere. It is a little to small for his head, but it still looks so cute on him. The kids and I had an awesome day swimming and playing outside!
Later that evening when Josh got off of work we went to dinner at the Pizza Factory and then Josh went to the condo with Drake and Stella and I did a little bit of shopping. St. George has an amazing TJ Maxx, and their Target is pretty good too. So we went to both of those places and found some pretty good deals. Later that night James and Lexi got down there. They were on spring break and so we invited them to come down and hang out with us. They left after work on Wednesday and go there late Wednesday night.
The next day was spent at the pool. We were there pretty much all day. We had another cookie and drink from the Swig, laid out, and swam with Drake.
Later that evening we drove to Mesquite to see Millie and Fredrick. We met them at Del Taco for dinner and then went to their house for some dessert. It was so fun to see them, and they were so happy that we came over. Drake loved playing with Fredrick, and Millie just thought that Stella was the cutest thing she had ever seen.
Friday we had the same routine that we had the last two days. Got up, went to the pool, had a cookie and a diet coke from the Swig and swam and swam and swam. Drake was in heaven and was in the pool with someone the whole time we were there.
Later that evening we went to Five Guys and took it to the park. The park they have there is awesome. They have this man made river running through it with lots of rocks to play on. Drake was in heaven.
They also have a splash pad at this park. Drake thought it was so much fun and got soaking wet!
After the kids were in bed we played some poker. My parents and Lauren got down there Friday night. Because of it being so warm, they decided that they wanted to come down too. They are interested in buying a condo by Barb and Syd's so they wanted to come down and meet with the Realtor to look at the ones for sale. They were going to stay in a hotel, but we thought it would be more fun and helpful if they just stayed with us. So it was a tight squeeze, but way more fun to have them there with us at night.
We all had on our matching PJ's. Lauren has these ones too, but she didn't bring them with her.
The next day was the same as usual. Drake loved having so many people there to play with. He learned how to tread water with his floaties on. So he didn't have to have anyone there holding him. He also learned that going under the water is fun. He jumped and tread water all day long.
Stella loved the water too and kept dipping her face in it and would come up laughing.
See what I mean, her hair went crazy on this trip!
That night everyone wanted to go to the Pizza Factory for dinner. They have awesome bread sticks and a really good salad bar.
This girl loves putting on lip stuff and knows exactly what to do when I pull it out. Such a girl!
I have some pretty awesome siblings. We always have a good time when we are together. We laughed so hard pretty much the entire time we were down there.
Stella loves Grandpa Kevin and there is a special place in his heart for her.
After Pizza Factory we went to Nielsen's Frozen Custard. That place is amazing too!
Sunday rolled around and Josh and James had to go home. Where my parents got down there late Friday night they didn't really want to leave until Monday. So Lexi and I wanted to stay with them.
Of course we went to the pool again. The Swig wasn't open on Sunday so we had to break from our daily routine a little bit :) While we were laying out at the pool I put my hair down with my glasses over it and just stared at Lauren until she opened her eyes. For some reason it was really funny, and I could not stop laughing. I had tears like running down my face.
That night we went and ate at Pancho and Lefty's. While we were there we were talking about how we didn't want to leave on Monday and that we just wanted to say another day because we were having so much fun and the weather was so nice. Plus, my parents had a meeting with the Realtor on Monday to see some condos so that would put us leaving St. George pretty late. So we stayed another day.
That night we met up with my cousin Austin who lives down there going to school. It was fun to see him and spend some time with him. Had we not stayed another day we wouldn't have been able to see him.
Drake with Grandpa Kevin's bike helmet on.
This is what Drake looked like every night. He was exhausted! This kid played so hard while we were down there. It was nice to be able to be outside and play.
Both the kids and me were really happy to see Josh when we got home. We had such a great vacation and loved every second of being in St. George, but it is always nice to get to your own home.
